Biography

I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior on Memorial Day of 1990 at the Key West Baptist Temple in Key West, Florida. Sensing a call, I surrendered to vocational ministry in April of 1993 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. I was licensed to preach the gospel in 1996 and ordained into the gospel ministry in 2000. After serving 8 years in the United States Navy as a Personnel Supervisor, I graduated from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and additionally received my Master of Arts in Religion with a specialty in Church Ministries from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. I served as the Youth and Associate Pastor at Flint Hill from 1996-2000. In June of 2000, I participated on a ministry team that planted “The Gathering” church in Sevierville, Tennessee. After completing my one year commitment on the team, I came back to serve as the Senior Pastor of Flint Hill and have been in place since Father’s Day of 2001. My wife Patty and I have been happily married for 20 years. She is my #1 encourager and supporter, and love of my life.  My oldest son Sheldon works for the U. S. Army and has a wonderful wife Audra. They have a daughter Brooklyn, who is four and Kaedyn who just turned one.  They are both the apple of my eye! My youngest son Daniel graduated in 2010 and is touring with his band Gideon before going to college to be a worship leader.  I enjoy spending time with his family, especially being a “Bop-Bop”. I enjoy watching, playing, and coaching all sports. Being from Ohio, I am an avid Ohio State fan and love all Cleveland Sports. In my spare time, I love to fish, golf, and travel. I love to have an Italian meal and drink cappuccino.
